ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Nancy Motley’s love for her students and her commitment to their education has motivated her diverse career path within the public system. She is currently an Educational Consultant for Seidlitz Education. She has developed a variety of training sessions in thinking strategies, vocabulary development, non-fiction reading and writing, and ELPS implementation. Motley’s previous educational roles include classroom teacher, reading specialist, intervention program coordinator, professional development instructor, and curriculum developer. Because of her dynamic approach to teaching and learning, she was awarded the Alief Independent School District’s Teacher of the Year Award in 2003. She holds a Masters of Arts in Counseling, which she uses to help teachers build strong, authentic connections with their students. Motley lives in Houston, Texas, with her husband and two daughters.
