Robert V. Taylor

Robert V. Taylor
Author of A New Way to be Human: 7 Spiritual Pathways to Becoming Fully Alive

Robert V. Taylor is a man of firsts. The first openly gay Episcopal dean in the U.S., he was also a first-time author when he came to us. His book – A New Way to be Human: 7 Spiritual Pathways to Becoming Fully Alive – was part memoir of an amazing life story (one that details his long friendship with Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and their shared history fighting apartheid in South Africa), and part spiritual guide.

We knew we had a very special book on our hands, but we also knew we needed to reach further than spiritual media – a worthwhile, but slim, media genre.
By taking cues from the headlines – on gay rights and interfaith movements, for example – we booked Robert on local television spots across the US, and even booked him as a “talking head” on a Fox News roundtable. We also adapted a portion of his story, a miraculous childhood healing, for a monologue on NPR’s prestigious “Snap Judgment.” Along with placed articles and interviews in outlets like Washington Post, Advocate Magazine, LA Weekly, Beliefnet and local newspapers around the country, Robert is sharing his story and a deep message of hope with readers everywhere.
