ABOUT THE BOOK
I Chose Love takes you on the courageous and insightful journey of New England artist Sandi Gold, from the time she was diagnosed with a brain tumor and given less than a year to live, to her miraculous recovery, followed by a thirty-year roller-coaster ride of physical and emotional challenges. Faced with recurring symptoms of radiation damage (including cancer) from her treatment, betrayal by a dysfunctional family, and myopic advice from the medical establishment, she taught herself to open her heart and trust her own body’s voice. Here she shares those lessons with profound self-reflections and offers guidance on how to be healed by the best natural treatment freely available to us all—love.
Sandi taught herself to listen to her body and embrace love as the ultimate path to healing. In this inspirational page-turner, she demonstrates the many ways she opened her heart and helped her body thrive. Written for people with cancer, cancer survivors, and anyone living with a serious illness or post-traumatic stress—as well as their caregivers and loved ones—this book shares valuable lessons from a unique and rare perspective.
Journaling exercises at the end of each chapter guide readers on their own healing journey to achieve both health and happiness.

PRAISE
“A brief encounter can impact the rest of your life. A few days with Sandi, when she faced her terminal diagnosis, forever altered my perspectives on life, death, love and the meaning we impart to our time on earth.”
—Catherine Crier, Emmy-winning journalist, and New York Times-bestselling author
“[Sandi is] a survivor and thriver!”
—Dr. Bernie Siegel, retired surgeon and New York Times-bestselling author
“A book about real willpower when all odds are against you. When all others say ‘No you can’t’ or ‘There is nothing we can do,’ you keep going until you find an answer. It is truly a book about beating the odds and facing fears that you never knew you had with fearlessness and raw determination.”
—Jamie M. Lee, DNM, IMD
“After the devastating diagnosis of an inoperable brain tumor, Sandi steadily found her way into forming a trusting friendship with her own body. With her life at stake, she had the courage to see her life and relationships with clarity and to set boundaries. She knew she had to be on her own side, and she let that be her guide in dealing with a frustrating patronizing medical system and dysfunctional personal relationships. Each chapter concludes with nuggets of advice and encouragement. Sandi’s life now reflects her hard-won wisdom.”
—Lynn Fraser, Founder, Stillpoint Method of Healing Trauma
“Sandi Gold proudly recounts a life story that is not only inspirational, but motivates the reader to journey through life in a similar, upbeat way. Which is, facing each danger, challenge and blind corner with a higher state-of-consciousness, that’s truly transformative. Her ability from page one to engender empathy and point the reader to the notion that ‘love is the answer’ is transcendent in its delivery. In short, this book is a sine qua non for any household, and is so, so good at suggesting what the human heart too often lacks: real hope, and the way to find it. Read this ‘victorious living’ account, and you’ll wonder why you didn’t see these tailor-made solutions before.”
—Greg W. Kay, U.S. Diplomatic Corps, Retired, author of A Christian, a Gay Guy and a Diplomat Walk into a Bar…
“Let me start right off with an understatement: this is a really good book. In fact, it’s a great book …Sandi is one of the best teachers you’ll ever meet.”
—Fr. William Hart McNichols, Internationally known iconographer and co-author of All My Eyes See: The Artistic Vocation of Fr. Hart McNichols
“In ‘I Chose Love,’ Sandi Gold fearlessly shares her personal healing journey, demonstrating the miraculous outcomes that unfold when we choose love as a guiding force. With authenticity and vulnerability, Sandi not only inspires readers but also provides practical strategies for embracing love in their own lives.”
—Dr. Lori Leyden, Developer of “The Grace Process” and Founder of Create Global Healing
“Exploring the mind-body connection and learning how to trust that you are your own best caregiver is no easy feat, but Sandi’s book helps illustrate that love is truly the strongest form of energy. Sandi’s journey of moving away from fear to focus on love, and having faith that love is the best path to follow is nothing short of inspiring.”
—Sen. Dennis L. Algiere, Former Rhode Island Senate Minority Leader
