ABOUT THE BOOK
Relentless Growth: Cultivating a Chef’s Mindset for Professional Fulfillment is not your typical leadership or self-help book; it is raw, honest, and rooted in the real world of high-pressure kitchens and hospitality.
In the book, author and seasoned hospitality leader Franck Desplechin offers a bold, practical blueprint for thriving—not just surviving—in one of the most demanding industries in the world. Drawing on over twenty-five years of experience in Michelin-starred kitchens and world-class hotels and resorts, he makes one thing clear: technical skill may get you in the door, but mindset determines how far you’ll go.
This book goes beyond conventional career advice, diving deep into the heart of what truly drives success and satisfaction—a relentless growth mindset. Delivered in a raw, direct, and authentically motivational voice, with just the right dose of humor, Relentless Growth is as real as it gets. It doesn’t sugarcoat the challenges of hospitality, but instead embraces them as essential ingredients for transformation.
Written for driven hospitality professionals and students—especially the next generation of leaders—this book also resonates with anyone, at any career stage, who refuses to plateau. It’s for those who want more than a job: they want a life rooted in growth, resilience, and excellence.
Relentless Growth is for people who understand that success isn’t about shortcuts or surface-level wins—it’s about who you become in the process. It’s for those willing to take the long road, face the setbacks, and push through the doubt, knowing that the only way to reach their true potential is to live the work, every single day.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Franck Desplechin has been a distinguished figure in the world of Culinary & Food and Beverage operations for over 25 years. Throughout his illustrious career in the kitchens of several Michelin-star-rated restaurants in France and some of the most luxurious brands around the world, such as St. Regis Hotels & Resorts and Auberge Resort Collection, Franck has exemplified flexibility and adaptability, seamlessly aligning with organizational needs while spearheading teams to unprecedented success.
Franck’s unique journey started at the school of hard knocks when he decided to work in kitchens at 15 years old instead of going to high school. His “neurotic” obsession to keep moving forward against all odds and adversities has earned him recognition as a true mastermind in his field.
Today, Franck shares his leadership philosophy through his consulting firm, Incrementum. He is a firm believer that adopting a professional growth mindset will transform an individual to reach career fulfillment.
When he is not traveling to assist hotels and resorts around the country, he enjoys hiking the trails of Connecticut with his wife Kristin and his two daughters, Lorena and Camila.

“Working with Franck is like having a true partner—he gets to solutions quickly, truly understands the client perspective, and listens with intent, always accommodating without ever compromising service. His deep knowledge of hospitality shines through in operational execution to exceptional client service.”
—Siobhan O’Leary, Founder / People Strategist at Aubergine Partners
“I had the pleasure of meeting Franck in 2023 during the rebranding and launch of a luxury resort property I was working on. From day one, it was clear we shared similar professional paths and ambitions. Franck played a key role in the success of that launch, bringing deep industry knowledge, structure, and a relentless drive for excellence. Since then, our connection has grown into a valued friendship and trusted partnership. Franck is someone I look to for an honest perspective, motivation, and collaboration. He’s an entrepreneur at heart, always pushing boundaries, and inspiring those around him. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Franck is a dedicated family man—married and a father of two—balancing it all with integrity and grit. I’m grateful for our ongoing relationship and look forward to what the future holds.”
—Jon Palsson, CEO/Founder at Palsberg Hospitality
“I worked with Franck towards the beginning of our respective kitchen career. He was probably the one person that had the most hunger and ambition to learn and move forward on things. Great innovator when it comes to finding solutions and thinking outside of the box. Franck has always been a step above when it comes to business and most importantly gets things done. Rather than just delegating or just being in the operation, he mixes both management styles with perfect balance. Another thing that makes it easy is that Franck happens to be a great human being besides work.”
—Gabriel Massip, Corporate Executive Chef at Magnifica
