There’s no doubt that Texas has its own culture that identifies with the color and region of its literature. Our writers emphasize what it means to be in the Lone Star State through their own eyes.

Texas writers draw you into the reality we call Texas. (Bigger and better and all that jazz…)

Texas Writers Month began in 1994 to support and celebrate Texas authors and writers through book signings, readings, events, and celebrations across the state.

Most importantly, Texas Writers Month gave readers an outlet to find and support some of the most talented Texas authors.

For nearly 18 years, we’ve been working with local Texas writers, publishers, and independent bookstores across the state to celebrate all the literary diversity and history that our great state has to offer.

Texas Writers Month (TWM) fizzled out around 2000 because no one was carrying the torch.  Last year, we at PR by the Book revived TWM,  bringingTexas Writers Month back to life.

With events, book signings, and celebrations across the state of Texas, there is no reason Texas readers should not be finding new authors to follow and enjoy reading Texas literature.

Whether you’re a native Texan or you got here as quickly as you could, there’s no denying that Texas has got every kind of writer to keep your TBR stack filled. Keep supporting Texas writers and help celebrate Texas Writers Month during May as a strong tradition for many years to come.

Check with your local booksellers for TWM events planned across the state, and share on your social media all during May.
